This blog is powered by WordPress, sweet tea, gummy bears, my Nikon, Photoshop, and bloggable moments provided by my husband and our eight children. I hope it substitutes in some small way for incomplete baby books and unfilled photo albums.

My web design business is Barefoot Blog Designs, I'm an author at the Homeschool Blog Awards, and my friend Melissa and I help little girls look their best with Love-Me-Knots.

Simply Devastated

July 19, 2007

Me, to 7-year-old daughter (a.k.a. Drama Queen): Why aren’t you helping your sister fold the clothes?

7-year-old daughter: She told me that she didn’t want my help. . . (dramatic pause) and I am SIMPLY DEVASTATED! (Imagine how Anne of Green Gables would say this, and you’ll get the picture.)

Me: Oh, I’m sure. (spoken with no small amount of sarcasm)

7-year-old daughter: What does devastated mean?

Oh, I’d have died laughing right in her face. Too cute. I can actually picture her wearing a tiara.

Wow. I just ran over to Barefoot and you’ve been busy! Hooray!

Congratulations on the awards. The Fruit of the Spirit is especially meaninful. I was also blessed to receive it. It’s funny not knowing who nominated us but I truly love what it stands for.

That is just too funny! I agree, though. It would be SIMPLY DEVASTATING if my little sister didn’t let me help her clean! lol.
