Astronomy through the eyes of a four-year-old

March 3, 2008

j0434738.png

My four-year-old daughter sat and colored during our astronomy lesson today (Jeannie Fulbright’s Exploring Creation with Astronomy), and I discovered that she has a quite unique perspective on the subject!

Me: Have you ever been inside a greenhouse? (discussing the atmosphere)

Felicity: Yes! Miss Ann’s house! (Our neighbor’s house is green.)

Me: Our atmosphere goes very high up in the sky: about 800 miles. That is very high. It’s more than 4 million feet. Airplanes don’t even go up that high. Only spaceships and astronauts leave our atmosphere.

Felicity: I know who else goes that high - superheroes!!

You’ll be glad you’ve blogged this so you can remember!
