Wordless Wednesday: Magnolia

by Dawn on June 10, 2008

Who knew a magnolia could be so downright whimsical?

I wasn’t sure what to call this, but discovered a website that describes the evolution of a magnolia blossom. I’ve always wanted magnolias, and we planted two small trees in our yard this year.

I got all carried away and posted another WW on my photoblog.

I love magnolias! My grandfather had one in his farm, and I would climb it up all the time. There was a big dead tree just against it, so I liked to pretend it was a ship… Good memories.

Here is my WW post for today. Have a great day!

Now I know, thanks to you. This is a magical shot…such beauty in a bloom!

Hope you can drop by my site for my latest WW contribution – and for a link to my latest weekly photo theme, Thematic Photographic. It’s similar to WW, and I hope it brings everyone who participates just as much photographic joy!

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a magnolia in person before. It is pretty neat looking.

Love the smell of magnolias. It’s one of the things I like about living in Florida – we are lousy with magnolias down here. I’m guessing that’s the inside of a bloom, after the petals fall off. Will have to pay closer attention!

I love it. That would make a fun addition to a children´s painting, don´t you think?

HOORAY! I get to comment, I get to comment! I don’t recall seeing magnolias either – not exactly a native in Colorado. This is such a great shot. I love how whimsical it is – those fun little curlys. :D
