Our Christmas in Photos

by Dawn on December 29, 2008

Excitement was in the air as the kids opened presents from their grandparents on Christmas Eve.

I will be swiping this book once he finishes. Are there any other adults who’ve read the first two in the Eragon series, or is it just me and a bunch of teen boys?

Oldest son caught playing with a Tinkerbell doll (I am not old enough to have a child with this much facial hair!):

Ornaments on the tree:

The wonder of Christmas. I took several pictures of the girls by the tree, but most had these green light reflections across them.

Santa’s treats are waiting and the kids are ready for bed:

Sitting on Dad trying to get him out of bed on Christmas morning:

Got my son this new (red) Starbucks mug so that he would quit taking mine:

My big gift: a chaise and lamp, which create a cozy reading nook in our bedroom:

This photo encompasses multiple resolutions: read more (finished a 755-page book last night that I started last Tuesday night when I got the chair); paint our bedroom (still “builder beige”); print and hang pictures (notice all the picture frames waiting for me behind that lamp?). At least I am reading more, so that’s a start!

I hope all of you had as wonderful a Christmas as we did!

I absolutely LOVE this post, Dawn! It’s just fun to be in the midst of your celebration. Your kids are so beautiful and handsome. The two older guys look almost identical – except for the facial hair. And no, you can’t possibly be old enough. Cause you’re younger than me! Although my oldest has shaved a handful of times now. Yikes!

Looks like a fun and wonderful Christmas! I especially love the reading nook you have. That is awesome!

Blessings, my dear friend!

Dawn, you take some of the most amazing and beautiful photos! What a precious family you have. I’m always learning…would you please share how you took the shots of the tree & ornaments, as well as your sweet daughter looking at the tree? What settings did you use? I have a Nikon D70 and am gleaning as much info as possible. Thanks and God bless!

LilBear:

50mm f/1.8 lens
ISO 1600 (to get the shots with low light–no overhead, just the tree lights–and no flash)
Program mode
