I ♥ Faces: Kids “Laughter” (week 18)

It’s time for week eighteen of the iHeartFaces photo contest! This week’s theme is “Laughter” and the guest judge is Ree Drummond, a.k.a The Pioneer Woman.

Two of our favorite families from church have daughters whose birthdays are close. Their moms planned a combined birthday/slumber party and I spent the night, too. One of my daughter’s gifts to the girls was a glass picture frame that said “Sisters” in rhinestones. We couldn’t find “Friends,” but loved the idea of “sisters” since they are church sisters. Our idea was for me to take a picture of all the girls and then we would print two copies and deliver them at church.

We went outside for a girls’ photo shoot while the other moms were cooking. I used my 70-300mm lens and backed way off, so they would feel more comfortable. These girls were in such a bubbly mood with a birthday party, big dinner, night out at the movies, and slumber party on the agenda.

I downloaded them to my laptop and let the girls pick their favorite (having no idea what we’d planned). As it turned out, my friend Michelle had a photo printer, so I emailed them to her and she printed them there. They were so surprised – even my daughter – when they opened framed pictures of the photo we’d just taken!
