9 Days of NAPP Day 9: LIVE from Photoshop World!

For Photoshop addicts, Photoshop World is the epitome of the learning and socializing experience. Not only can you receive first-hand instruction from the world’s top Photoshop professionals, but you can ask them questions, hang out at after-hours events with them, maybe even stalk them on the Expo floor. Not that I would ever do that.

This week’s Photoshop World features a tweet-up; at least four photo walks; an off-site party hosted by iStockphoto; twitter contests and giveaways; and traditional events such as Thursday night’s after-hours party at the House of Blues and Friday night’s limited-seating Midnight Madness event. In addition to the regular classes, there are bonus classes by instructors like Joe McNally and Julianne Kost being given on the Expo floor.

Check out a sampling of the instructor list: Scott Kelby, Joe McNally, Matt Kloskowski, Lesa Snider (love her!), RC Concepcion, Dave Cross, Julianne Kost, Bert Monroy (went to his seminar tour recently and my mind was blown!), Jay Maisel, Moose Peterson, Fay Sirkis, and Alan Hess.

One of the neatest things has been meeting some of my Twitter buddies in real life. Check out the Photoshop World action by searching Twitter hashtag #PSW. Look for Photoshop World summary posts and pics in the days to come, because for some of us: What happens in Vegas gets blogged!

It’s been fun following PSW vicariously thorough your blog and tweeter post. I couldn’t attend this year but I am definitely planning to attend next year. I love to learn and I love Photoshop so learning about Photoshop is the best! :-)

I would love to attend Photoshop World. I have wanted to for the last several years. I always love learning new things about Photoshop and would love to learn from all these Photoshop rockstars IN PERSON! I guess I need to start saving up and make some plans!

I’m so desperate to learn more about Photoshop that I’d shave my dog’s head. Hee hee! Seriously, Photoshop isn’t just fun, it’s addictive and I need PA (photoshop’s anonymous). I’m hoping to win the year membership but would be eternally grateful for a slice of bread (LOL). You have done an amazing job with promoting all of this. Keep up the great work!

I was fortunate enough to attend PSW the last time it was in Orlando. I hope that one year I will be able to attend in Las Vegas, and hopefully be able to attend some of the pre-cons when I do. Of course in the meantime, if I am able to attend another east coast PSW until I am able to get to Las Vegas.

Well, you know I was not at PSW this year, cause I’d have surely met you. It would be totally cool to go. Of course, I’d love to learn more about PS. I feel like such a beginner, limping along most of the time. And there’s no Lightroom here on my laptop, so hearing about all the groovy functions of that . . . well, just causes me to become a little green-eyed! LOL!! :D

You know that my dream is to be a photographer. Well, I’m already a photographer, but to be one that gets paid for doing it. ;) I would love to come to PSW – and I would love to learn how to use Photoshop and Lightroom. I would not feel ‘worthy’ of being there, but I’d sure love to be a fly on the wall. It would be fun to be your roomie at a conference again! Maybe I could be your photo assistant. :)

As for the prizes – If I won the books, I would give one away in a give-away since we already have it, but I REALLY want that Lightroom book and the membership to NAPP!!!

I’ve used Photoshop for years and never been to Photoshop World :-( It’s always bad timing for some reason. So YES, I would love to go and learn more about Photoshop. Even though I’ve been using Photoshop for a long time, I’m always amazed by new tricks of trade. There is so much that I don’t know.

This was my first year that I did NOT get to attend a PSW :( Otherwise, I have attend the past 3 (Miami, Boston, & Orlando). Photoshop is my life!! I live, eat and breath it and force it onto others…nicely that is! I am always eager to learn a new short cut or action to make my work flow run smoother and quicker. I recommend Photoshop World, NAAP and Scott Kelby Training to everyone. I would love to learn something new…so bring it on!!!!!

Had a blast this year at Photoshop World. It was my first one and certainly not my last. I learned so much and very much enjoyed the non-stop action and learning. I even won a copy of Lightroom 2 from Adobe just by following the Lightroom crew on Twitter. What a well executed event. Thanks NAPP.

What a wonderful and fun-filled conference in LV this year. The simultaneous Tattoo convention gave some added color and a lot of new subject material to photograph

Unfortunately I could not get off work in time for the pre-conference – but that is a must for next year

Despite being a Photoshop User and Layers Magazine avid reader, along with the multiple NAPP podcasts – I just had to be present for Scott, Dave and Matt rocking the Houseski! ;)
