Upon discovering Emily Rose at Simply Vintagegirl, I was struck by what a talented and charming young lady she is. Photography, homemaking, nature study, homeschooling—her blog has a lively mix of them all. When I “met” her sister, Breezy, too, I was sure that their home must be a virtual beehive of artistic ability and creativity.

They’ve had a big surprise in the works that is finally unveiled: the Daughters of His Story Paper Doll Series of Historical Women in Christ’s Kingdom from their new home business website, Noble Rose Press.

There are three Daughters of His Story sets of paper dolls, each containing two historical women:

  • Collection One features two ladies from the Reformation: Katharina von Bora (hospitable wife of Martin Luther the great reformer) and Idelette Calvin (caring wife of John Calvin the great theologian).
  • Collection Two features two ladies from the 1700’s: Abigail Adams (encouraging wife of our second president, John Adams) and Sarah Edwards (diligent wife of Jonathan Edwards the great preacher).
  • Collection Three features two ladies from the 1600’s: Pocahontas (peacemaking ally of Jamestown who married John Rolfe) and Priscilla Mullins (faithful pilgrim who came to America on the Mayflower and married John Alden).

They can be purchased individually or in a bundled set. Unable to choose—they are all so nice!—I bought the bundled set for my daughters for Christmas.

This is such an impressive endeavor for two homeschooled teen girls. I’m so proud of them, and have shared the Noble Rose Press website with friends in my church and homeschool group.

Guess what? Emily Rose and Breezy have donated three individual collections to be given away here to three readers!

How to Enter

Visit Noble Rose Press and let us know which collection is your favorite. It isn’t easy, which is why I ordered the bundle. Contest ends Sunday, October 25.

Tweet, Facebook, or blog the giveaway for additional entries, just leave a separate comment for each.

These are beautiful and I like that the women chosen are not the “typical” ones. I think these “girls” will go far!

I would love to have #2. Sarah Edwards is an ancestor so I am very interested in her. How neat it would be for me to play with my girls and teach them of the godly examples they were.

I’m so impressed! I like them all, but probably Collection 1 is my favorite. The outfits are neat. The colors on the dolls are pretty on Collection 2. Morgan would enjoy these and she’s also an aspiring little artist. :)

How lovely! It’s hard to decide, but I think I like the ladies from the 1700s the best.

19 Dixiemom7 October 18, 2009 at 12:04 am

I like the 2nd set the best. I think it will be a lovely way to teach my daughter more about the 1700s as she is loving the Felicity American Girl books right now.

20 Gail October 19, 2009 at 5:00 pm

I visited the site and had a tough time choosing, but the Pocahontas and Sarah Mullins set reminded me of growing up playing pioneer girls with my sister and of my own two girls and their love of playing the same dress-up game. So, I vote for collection #3. :)

24 Miss Rebekah Ann S. October 20, 2009 at 3:30 pm

Hi! I came across your giveaway via Mrs. Brookshire’s blog. Thank you for blogging about my dear friends Emily Rose and Breezy! :) I can attest to the fact that they truly are delightful young women with hearts for Christian dominion and encouragement of girls and young ladies. They are such a joy, and I’m so inspired by their great work!

I already purchased the bundle for my hopechest (I was delighted by how sturdy and intricately detailed they were!), but would like to enter the giveaway in the hopes of winning a collection for a friend of mine. I think she would like Collection 1 the best (the one with Mrs. Calvin and Mrs. Luther). Thank you!! :)

God bless,
Miss Rebekah
