With eight kids, we’ve had babies and toddlers for a long time. Over the past year it’s been a strange feeling to no longer need diapers, or much of anything from that department. The mental transition has come along gradually, the feeling that our family has moved past the baby stage. But this was the biggie…
This week my baby turned five.
No more clothing sizes that end in a “T.”
No help needed with those candles (although mom’s not ready for her to give up the floaties!).
Holding hands with boys. Oh, dear!
We’ve got one son in college and a second starting in August, but moving permanently beyond the baby stage has taken time for me to grasp. I feel ready for it now, although they’ll always be my babies. 🙂
It’s been coming on gradually for me. I’m finally “over” the baby stage and ready to move on; we’ve just been there for so long.
she’s so cute! it is hard to move past that stage. i’m not there yet but it’s coming faster than i want it to.
5 is such a milestone bday for me. that and double digits. i can’t even fathom college right now! you’ll have to keep posting pointers… i think i’m going to need help!
you have such beautiful kids, dawn. and girl, you look awesome and way too young to have kids in college already. i want to be like you when i grow up! 🙂
I just love the font you used for your name and on the blog banner that reads “Decorated with Family, Faith and Photoshop”. Would you mind letting me know which font it is? Thanks so much!
I am honored to have my baby boy’s hand the one that Lily is holding!! Your family is precious – each and every one! We are blessed to be your friends!
