When I heard that Solo Cups was having a photo contest, I decided, “Someone’s got to win it, and it might as well be me!” and started brainstorming creative uses of Solo Cups.
I had the idea of making hats with the cups, but my dad expanded it and said to incorporate our dog into the photo. When I emailed it to him, he said, “That’s the winner!” Being the daddy’s girl I am, I wanted it to be so.
Solo liked it, too, and chose it for the 1st runner up. I won $1,000!
The real fun is seeing the original, showing my youngest daughter in denial over not being part of the picture.
I kind of liked it in B&W, too.
Lesson learned: There’s a whole lot you can do with a Solo cup!
Colorful, aren’t they?
Wow – congrats Dawn! It is a great shot… but I really love the one with your daughter pouting too! I could so see that happening!
Congratulations. I kind of feel bad for youngest because I see her needing a hat too, lol. But I love the telephone one! This is a great honor and what an awesome prize!
How cool is THAT!!! congratulations and those are really cute photo’s…prize well deserved.
Kristal, I love the pouting shot, too! It was actually the first one I took that ended up being the best, but it’s more fun seeing the full scene. LOL
Thanks, Jakki! I’m really excited about it. 🙂
That is soo coool!!!
Congratulations!

You are SO creative, Dawn. I love these shots – but the winning one is definitely awesome. Although the one with your daughter pouting in the background is great, too. While I like the b&w, I think the colors really make it – especially considering that the Solo cups were the point. Congratulations!! 🙂
Dawn, Yip-Pee!!!!! So exciting. So what cha got planned for the 25th Anniversary?
Big time congrats, Dawn! Whatcha gonna spend it on? ;D
I love the full picture with the pouty face in the background. Poor thang! Of course, her own picture where she’s praying for rain ~ um . . . too cute! Very creative.
CONGRATULATIONS!!!
ROFL Love the pouty face! Makes me want to give her an ice cream cone!
Hi Dawn! I’ve been following links this morning and not sure how I landed here, but I’m certainly glad that I did. Your blog and photography are beautiful and I LOVE LOVE LOVE this post. That first shot (the original) is priceless. Blessings, Patricia
