Post image for 31 Days of Real Life: The First Week in Images

Welcome to Day 9 of 31 Days of Real Life, the one in which I unload all the photos from the first weekend’s events. On October 1 my 16- and 10-year-old sons and I attended our homeschool group’s annual mother/son outing at a 4H campground in the north Georgia mountains; on October 2 my husband and I joined Scott Kelby’s Worldwide Photo Walk in Dahlonega, GA.

Although I’ve enjoyed sharing real life mostly in words these 9 days, it’s in the images that the story lives and breathes for me. Just now my 6-year-old daughter said to me, “Moms see God every day,” and I replied, “Do you know where I see God? In you.”

I see Him—feel Him—in every image here: in people and in nature; in the colors and in the absence of color (where I more clearly see the form); in lines and in symmetry; in life, in joy, in art, in stillness, and in motion.

I may have seen you – not sure. But I don’t believe that you have horse feet. Tee hee! These are all great photos. Believe it or not, Pam & I didn’t do the Kelby photowalk in Denver. When we’re so tired that we skip out on such an event? You know we’re in bad shape. but we did kind of our own photowalk the next day, so I still have some interesting shots at a local college. Some day I’ll have to go back to downtown Denver and do it anyway.

Dianne, you did get to hang out with a friend though, and that’s a big thing. And you had “kind of” your own photo walk! This was the smallest walk I’ve ever joined, but it was such a nice time. I took the least amount of photos ever on a photo walk. I really enjoyed hanging out with my hubby and the other walkers. We sat at dinner for probably 3 hours.
