Remember on Day 12 when I told you how much I love photographing our county’s Veterans’ Day celebration? This shot is from another year’s event and shows one of my favorite parts: the field of flags. I decided to have fun with this photo and give it some extra punch.
The Edits:
- Apply Matt Kloskowski’s 300 Look Lightroom preset – strong strength: for Lightroom 4 or for Lightroom 2 or 3 (I appreciate Matt for slowly updating his presets for LR4.)
- Use a combination of the Spot Removal Tool in Lightroom and whatever I used in Photoshop (probably some combination of the Spot Healing Brush Tool, Healing Brush Tool, and Patch Tool) to remove the cell tower or whatever that big distracting thing is in the background.
A cloudless blue sky may be a sign of good weather, but clouds make more dramatic images, don’t they?

wow, this is just so striking, dawn!
It’s hard to go wrong with a field of flags!
Wow, amazing!!! Oh dear, I think i need a book on my software (Photoshop Elements) because I so desperately want to know how to do the stuff you are doing! (Or else, I need new software for Christmas!?) 🙂
Spring, if you try Lightroom, I’d appreciate it if you checked my affiliate links. I’ve never used Elements, but I have a friend who uses it and says she can do a lot with it! Here are a couple of books on it: http://kelbytraining.com/store/products/elements/
Fabulous, thank you!
Oh, I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this because I love the flag…and I just love the contrast of the color against the blck/white, too 🙂 🙂 Love and hugs from the ocean shores of California, Heather 🙂
Waving back, Heather!
