Our first three children were boys, so teen girls in the house is a relatively new thing around here. Our oldest girls are 16 and 13. We’ve done this parenting of teens thing five times and it amazes me how the same gene pool and environment can produce such radically different results.

I’ve learned a lot while navigating the teen years with sons, but raising daughters presents a unique set of challenges. It’s simply not the same world we grew up in and these years are crucial. Each child is different: some are open books and will speak freely; some close themselves off and their thoughts remain a mystery. I’ve had both kinds.

It’s important to pour good things into our teen girls. The world is working against us—against them—in a mighty way.

This is a topic near to my heart, which is why I am so excited to tell you about this giveaway. If you’re a teen girl or the mother of one here in Atlanta, this one’s for you!

I’ve got two tickets for the Girls of Grace tour for teen girls this Saturday in Atlanta and a CD to give away to one winner! Just leave a comment on this post to be entered to win!

About Girls of Grace

Girls of Grace speakers

The 11th season of “Girls of Grace” is scheduled to visit Atlanta, GA, on November 16 at Griffin First Assembly. This event teaches teen girls (6th-12th grades) and their mothers and leaders how to live freely, love fiercely and lead fearlessly as a Girl of Grace through a high-impact all-day event. This is a perfect experience for teens, moms and their leaders to empower and equip themselves with the tools they need to become Christ followers who have a lasting impact on their generation. This year’s conference includes live music by today’s top Christian artists including Britt Nicole, Royal Tailor and Amanda Noelle, guest speakers and interactive sessions. Founded by Point of Grace in 2002, Girls of Grace grew out of their desire to bring teen girls together to talk about issues that affect them and to share that a relationship with Christ is the true source for peace and assurance in their lives. “At times girls feel like they are the only ones who struggle with certain issues,” said Denise Jones of Point of Grace.  “With a Girls of Grace conference it gives them the opportunity to come together in a large group and realize that we all have our own struggles, and yet, we are in this together.”

The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and includes a full day of live music and guest speakers. Recording artists Britt Nicole, Royal Tailor, Amanda Noelle and Point of Grace are set to perform. The day also features renowned guest speakers including youth speaker Chris Wheeler (Director of Student Initiatives, Show Hope), inspirational author Annie Downs and Bianca Olthoff (Chief Storyteller, A21 Campaign, a global anti-human trafficking organization).
