Although autumn is my favorite time of year, I’m holding onto this season of longer days and sunny skies. Our family spent last week in Florida watching for dolphins, scavenging sand dollars, and counting beached jellyfish.
I’ll pull out my jeans and sweaters soon enough.
Do you live somewhere with four distinct seasons? What’s your favorite?

I grew up in Southwestern Pennsylvania and didn’t really realize how lucky I was to enjoy all four seasons until I moved away. I’m now living in Middle Tennessee and boy do I miss my fall and winter! There is too much humidity and not nearly enough “cool breeze” sunny days of autumn. I have been blessed to enjoy some snow these last two years, but its not the same since everyone else here is scared of “all this white stuff” around them. 🙂
Carrie, it’s funny how perspective is based on where we grew up. I’m from the South and I feel like we get all four seasons in Atlanta, although I wish the spring and fall were a little cooler. I think my kids would be happy with a little more snow and I love a good snow day too. 😉
You’re so right! I find it fun to “shoot the breeze” about weather/seasons with my friends from different areas. And I’ve come to appreciate the role that aging plays in which seasons you enjoy more as well. Many of my “not so young” friends have said they once enjoyed winter, but not anymore. 🙂
