I ♥ Faces Photo Challenge: Wind

This week’s theme at iHeartFaces is Wind. This photo is from last summer at Braves’ Homeschool Day. Because of the afternoon heat, I’d asked for shady seats high behind home plate, and they took me seriously. We kept climbing and climbing until we found ourselves on the very top row of the stadium!

We stayed cool with the combination of shade and the wind tunnel affect of open air behind us. I love the movement and dynamic it created in the shots I took that day.

There is something poignant, almost heartbreaking about this image of my youngest child. Her eyes, her little mouth—I find the expression so compelling.

iHeartFaces: Best Face Photo of 2010

This week’s theme at iHeartFaces is “Best Face Photo of 2010.”

If I had to choose a photo from 2010 that is most compelling to me, it would be this one of my youngest daughter at a Braves’ game this summer. We were on the very top row of the stadium, safely tucked away from the sun, but in a virtual wind cloud as it swirled around us there.

iHeartFaces Week 49 (2nd year): Pets

This week’s theme at iHeartFaces is “Pets.” This was my entry to the Solo Cups Photo Contest this summer. I had taken pictures of cups and kids, but my daddy said I should add our dog to the picture. My 10-year-old daughter adores our tired, old pet, so she was the natural choice to pose with her. This photo won 1st runner up.

iHeartFaces: Scenic B&W

This week’s theme at iHeartFaces is “Scenic B&W.”

This photo is of my son in the Smoky Mountain National Forest. The original is almost completely green, even the rock is covered in moss. I like the solid, unbroken view of rock, wood, tree, texture. He almost glows in the middle.

iHeartFaces Week 39 (year 2): Chalk

This week’s theme at iHeartFaces is “Chalk.” These are from a maternity shoot three weeks ago. I think Anna looks amazing considering this was taken 9 days before her due date. She looks so serene; actually, she and Ben both do.

Her sweet girl is now nearly 2 weeks old.

She wrote their final list of baby names on the sidewalk in chalk.

And the winner? Emma. :-)

This week’s themes at iHeartFaces is “Surprise!” I was taking these head shots for a friend who is a young actress, and she was telling about something crazy her mom had done. Her expression was so cute that I asked her to tell me again, and this is what I got. :-)
